Library Accessibility

Physical Accessibility

While the front entrance to the Seth Wilson Library features several stairs, indoors and outdoors, there is an accessible, ground level entrance at the back end of the building, with parking available just outside of the entrance. From there, you can access the basement level of the library, with an elevator available near the archives room for first floor access. Navigating this entrance for the first time can be tricky so if you have any questions or get turned around feel free to call the Seth Wilson Library Circulation Desk at 417-626-1234 ext. 2700 for further instructions or to request a clerk to escort you.

The library was recently redesigned to ensure that it is ADA compliant and that all walkways provide ample space. If you notice there is an obtrusion between an aisle or a walkway please alert staff so that it may be fixed.

Digital Accessibility

The Seth Wilson Library is committed to providing equitable access to all users and strives to ensure that its resources align with current accessibility standards, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). When third-party resources do not fully meet these standards, the library documents known limitations and works with vendors to advocate for improvements.

The library provides timely and effective assistance to users who encounter accessibility barriers, including alternative access to content where possible. These efforts are guided by applicable legal frameworks, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and are supported by ongoing review and documentation of accessibility practices.
